How to check your PostHog dashboards on an iPhone

To check your PostHog dashboards on an iPhone, install MobileHog, tap Connect PostHog and approve read-only access on PostHog’s sign-in page. Your dashboards then appear with every tile, in the order you arranged them. It takes under a minute and needs iOS 17 or later. MobileHog is an independent app, not made by PostHog.

Step 1: Sign in

  1. Open MobileHog and tap Connect PostHog. PostHog’s own sign-in page opens in a secure Safari sheet. MobileHog never sees your password.
  2. Pick your region, US or EU. PostHog remembers it, so you only do this once.
  3. Approve the permissions. They are all read-only; the security page explains each one.

Step 2: Open a dashboard

The Overview tab lists your dashboards. Tap one and the tiles load from PostHog’s cache first, so numbers appear immediately. Tiles that PostHog hasn’t calculated recently show “Not calculated yet”; pull down to refresh and PostHog calculates them.

Everything a PostHog dashboard can hold is drawn natively:

  • HogQL tables, lines, bars and stacked bars
  • Trends as lines, bar values and bold numbers
  • Funnels, including breakdowns
  • Retention cohorts
  • Text tiles in Markdown

Step 3: Read charts on a small screen

A few things work differently from the desktop, on purpose:

  • Drag across a line chart to read the exact value and date under your finger.
  • Pie charts become ranked bars. A ranked list gives every label a full line and every value a length you can compare.
  • Stacked bars run sideways, so category labels aren’t squeezed into narrow columns.
  • Turn your phone sideways on a tile’s detail view for a wide chart.

Step 4: Switch project or look elsewhere

Tap the large title at the top of any tab to switch between projects and organizations. The other tabs cover Insights (your saved insights), Web (visitors, page views, sessions, bounce rate, top pages) and Activity (recent events). The last tab collects errors, feature flags, experiments, surveys, session replays, cohorts and annotations, each with a count.

Troubleshooting

  • You land on a “You’re signed in” web page after approving. Open MobileHog directly once; the connection is usually already there.
  • A screen says a permission is missing. Your sign-in doesn’t include it. Remove the connection in Settings and connect again.

FAQ

Does it work with PostHog EU Cloud?
Yes. After you sign in, MobileHog checks whether your project lives in the US or EU region and uses the right one automatically.
Can I edit a dashboard from my iPhone?
Not in MobileHog. It is read-only by design and never requests write permissions. To edit, use PostHog in the browser.
Will checking dashboards use my PostHog query quota?
Only when you pull to refresh. Opening a dashboard shows PostHog’s cached results; nothing recalculates in the background.
